Booking and Payment
How do I book a place/s on a Wildlings Education event/group?
Booking is essential for all sessions - no drop ins as places are limited.
Before booking please read these FAQs and our Booking Terms and Conditions.
- Tasters or Single sessions (Wildlings Tots and Forest School) - Online see specific group webpage.
- Events (Wildlings Play) - Book online via Events web page
- Recurring group sessions - Please join waiting list OR book a taster session available if space on each group's webpage.
After attending a taster session, you will be offered a place in the group. To secure your place you will need to set up a monthly Direct Debit via Go Cardless.
You agree to our Booking Terms & Conditions by booking and/or attending a session.
After booking, please complete a Participant Form for each child attending an event/group.
Confirmation will be sent after your booking payment, with information about your session/group to follow (including what to bring/wear, directions and where to meet).
Payments
One‑off events and Tasters/Single Sessions - booked online and paid at the time of booking via online card payment through our website ticketing system.
Recurring sessions (Wildlings Tots & Forest School) are secured by setting up a Direct Debit via Go Cardless.
The monthly amount will change depending on number of sessions per month.

Do I get a discount?
Wildlings Tots
Children 2-5 years:
- Taster/Single sessions - Standard Rate £10/session
- Recurring with Monthly Direct Debit - £8.50/session x number of sessions/month
2nd Child Walker-under 24 months / 6+ years:
£2.50 /session (valid only with child 2-5 years ticket)
Forest School
Children 5-12 years:
- Taster/Single sessions - Standard Rate £12.50/session
- Recurring with Monthly Direct Debit - £10/session x number of sessions/month
2nd Child under 5 years / 13+ years:
£2.50 /session (valid only with child 5-12 years ticket)
Wildlings Play
Children 5-12 years:
- Standard Rate £7.50/session
2nd Child under 5 years / 13+ years:
£2.50 /session (valid only with child 5-12 years ticket)
Other discounts may be offered occasionally on an individual basis and time limited.
I've booked the wrong session what can I do?
Accidental bookings will be refunded minus an admin fee (£1–£2) to cover non‑recoverable card charges and administration time if notified within 24 hours of booking/payment.

Do one‑off bookings give me priority for future sessions?
No — priority access is only available to families with an active Direct Debit mandate for recurring sessions.

Price Reviews
Wildlings Education reviews its session fees annually. Prices may increase at the start of a new term or academic year. Any changes will be communicated to families in advance.
Payment schedules are based on current pricing and may be updated if fees change.

By booking and making a payment for a Wildlings Education group programme or event you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

Who do these Terms & Conditions apply to?
Only participants attending, and those booking on their behalf, sessions delivered directly by Wildlings Education.
If we deliver on behalf of another organisation, their own policies apply.
Safety
Do adults have to stay?
Yes — a supervising adult must remain with their child throughout the session.
Wildlings Education does not take direct supervision of children.
1 FREE adult per family
Additional adults are charged - see event/group details.
Wildlings Play/Wildlings Tots/Forest School - Adults are only allowed to attend if booked with a child ticket and adult names must be given at time of booking.
If booked adult needs to change, please inform Wildlings Education at the earliest opportunity before the session.
What clothing and equipment to bring?
All activity equipment will be provided.
Please bring a drink and a snack (no nuts).
We play come rain or shine so please come suitably dressed (children and adults!)
We recommend clothing that can get muddy, wet, painted or smoky.
A change of clothes are always a good idea too.
Children and adults supervising must arrive with:
- Weather‑appropriate clothing - see our ‘What to Wear’ guide.
- Long sleeves and trousers are best to protect from exploring and sun.
- Waterproofs whatever the weather
- Sturdy footwear
- Hat/gloves in cold weather
- Sun protection in warm weather - hat and suncream
- A named water bottle and snack - please no nuts/snacks containing nuts.
Clothing and Safety Around Fires and tools
We encourage all participants to dress comfortably while maintaining safety around fires and practical activities. Please follow these guidelines:
- Long hair must be tied back during sessions involving fire or tool use.
- Clothing made from flammable materials should be avoided during fire-based activities.
- Participants are encouraged to wear natural fibres (e.g. cotton, wool) rather than synthetic fabrics when near fires.
- Flowing or loose clothing (such as long dresses, skirts, scarves or headscarves) should be secured and kept clear of flames and tools.
How do you keep children safe during activities?
At Wildlings Education, safety is our top priority. All sessions are carefully planned to balance risk and benefit, ensuring a secure and engaging environment for your child.
Our sessions are facilitated by experienced, trained staff.
Each activity and site undergoes a thorough risk–benefit assessment, and our team regularly updates their skills and tools training.
Staff are trained in environmental education, outdoor first aid, and are qualified Forest School Level 3 practitioners.
A fully stocked first aid kit and welfare equipment are taken out on site for every session.
Wildlings Education holds Public Liability Insurance for all activities.

What are your safeguarding procedures?
Our staff are experienced and trained in safeguarding. All team members hold an enhanced DBS check and complete regular safeguarding training.
Children must be supervised throughout every session by their booked adult. Please follow our Adults at Wildlings Groups Guidance, provided with your booking confirmation or at your taster session.
We ask all adults to follow this guidance to help us maintain a safe, supportive environment for everyone.
Any safeguarding concerns are handled confidentially and appropriately in line with our policies and procedures.

Access and Inclusion
How does Wildlings Education support equality and inclusion?
We welcome all families and adapt sessions where possible to meet individual needs.
If you are unsure if the site or activities will be suitable do make contact with Wildlings Education to discuss over the phone or email before making a booking.
Please share any access requirements, medical including allergies or additional needs, or dietary information for your child and adult supervising by completing a Participant Form as soon as possible after booking so reasonable adjustments are made.
We will make reasonable adjustments to support your child or yourself to attend and take part in activities if given a reasonable timeframe - We aim for an inclusive environment.
How accessible are the sites you use?
The sites we use are mainly public parks, gardens and country parks which have accessible paths. Some activities are off the main paths or on grass and muddy paths. Some sites we use have steps or slopes.
Trained assistance dogs are allowed at Wildlings Education sessions and events. (No other dogs allowed, even on sites where dogs are usually allowed).
Attenborough Arboretum has toilets on site including a disabled toilet.
Refunds & Transfers & Cancellations
What happens if I miss a session or can't attend?
Refunds are not issued for missed sessions due to participant illness, holidays, or personal circumstances.
- Group Taster Sessions may be transferred to a future session or credited at our discretion if notified with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
- Wildlings Play Events & Single Sessions & Special Events are non‑refundable.
If you cannot attend, you may transfer your ticket(s) to another family (please notify us with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice).
What happens if the weather is bad?
- Sessions run in all weather except high winds, thunderstorms, or unsafe conditions.
- Please ensure you and your child are appropriately dressed for an outdoor potentially muddy and wet session.
- Tarpaulin shelters are provided for shelter from rain.
- Activities may be changed at short notice to enable the session to go ahead.
We will try to give 24 hours notice but may be on the day if weather changes suddenly/overnight. Contact will be made via text/email of the adult who booked. - If a session is cancelled due to unsafe weather, we will attempt to reschedule.
- One‑off events/tasters/single sessions will be refunded if we cannot reschedule.
- Recurring sessions - The first weather‑related cancellation in any term is not refunded or credited; subsequent cancellations are credited in your next monthly payment.
- Other unforeseen circumstances - If for any other reason outside the control of Wildlings Education, including (without limitation) as a result of an “Act of God” (e.g. disruption resulting from earthquakes, strikes or terrorist activity), or where local or governmental authorities/public guidance advise that in person classes should be temporarily suspended for health or other reasons (‘Extreme Reasons’), then no refunds nor credits shall be given.
- We will not be liable to pay any compensation or incidental costs or expenses that you may incur as a result of cancellation or for any other loss or damage however caused arising out of a cancellation. We recommend that you take out appropriate insurance, which includes cover against cancellation.
What if Wildlings Education cancels a session due to a staff illness or emergency?
We’ll attempt to reschedule.
If that’s not possible, recurring sessions receive a credit and one‑off events are refunded.
Key Policies and Terms
Photography and Media
- We may take photos or videos for documentation or promotional use in print or online including social media.
- Verbal consent is requested during registration/on the day for activity‑based photos (hands, backs of heads, or non‑identifiable angles).
- Written consent will be required for face shots.
- You may withdraw consent at any time - however, previously used photos/videos may not be able to be removed, no future use will be made.

Date Protection
We store personal information securely and only use it for:
- Registration
- Emergency contact
- Payment processing
- Session communication
- Feedback request
We do not store payment card details. We do not share data with third parties except GoCardless for Direct Debit processing or Webador/Mollie for online booking via our website.
Wildlings Education will only contact you about future events and programmes if you have opted to receive this information via our Participant Form, Contact Form, Booking Enquiry or written request. You may unsubscribe at any time.

Confidentiality & Intellectual Property
All session content, plans, and materials used during Wildlings Education sessions are the intellectual property of Wildlings Education. They are provided solely for the enjoyment and benefit of participating families.
Session activities, resources, and teaching methods may not be copied, reproduced, or used for commercial or training purposes without written permission from Wildlings Education.
Attendance at a session does not grant permission to observe or record sessions for professional use, research, or reproduction of materials.
Wildlings Education reserves the right to refuse bookings where attendance is sought for professional observation or replication of sessions.
